Are you a professional who has reached a crossroads in your career and feeling stuck in a rut? Or just starting out your career and feeling like you have chosen the wrong career path? Or perhaps you are a college student who is unclear about which career to pursue, such as whether to become a lawyer, a profession in which Progress in Work has unparalleled experience? If this sounds like you, Progress in Work can help.
My name is Sheryl Odentz. I am a career counselor and coach, and the founder of Progress in Work, which is an established, award-winning, career management firm. I created The Career Crossroads Program because many people struggle with what career path to pursue, or they have reached a hiccup in their career and don’t know what to do next.
Career management is a lifelong process, meaning that throughout your life, you will change, situations will change, and you will continually have to make career and life decisions. So, it is important to know how to handle these situations when they come up.
Since good career management starts with self-exploration, The Career Crossroads Program focuses on understanding oneself and one’s motivations. This process will enable you to create a solid career plan for the future. A wrong choice at a critical juncture can result in wasted years and significant debt — and cause unhappiness.
Through The Career Crossroads Program’s 11, one-on-one, 50-minute sessions, together we will look at your aptitudes, personal style, skills, interests, family influences, values, goals, personality and psychological needs pertaining to work. This information will help you to create your personal vision for the future.
The duration of The Career Crossroads Program varies depending on each person’s circumstances.
After the self-exploration piece, I can also help you with the more tactical aspects of finding a position. Topics include: developing a compelling narrative, creating a strong resume, honing your networking and interviewing skills, writing strong cover letters, creating a LinkedIn profile, learning about recruiters, and knowing where to find important resources to help you with your job search or internships.
What better investment can you make than in yourself and your future? Progress in Work can help you make the right choice for you.

Testimonials
Sheryl’s passion and genuine interest were evident to me on the first day. Incorporating myriad resources, Sheryl helped me to unearth insights both on the personal and professional levels. The Crossroads Career Counseling and Coaching Program promises tangible results, which Sheryl herself prioritizes and delivers upon. After working with her for several weeks, I have attained a renewed confidence in myself and my career path moving forward.
—Rising Junior from Brown University
When I started working with Sheryl, I was very unhappy with my job. I had graduated from a top business school with an MBA one year earlier and took a job that I thought would be a perfect fit for me. After one year working at that job, I knew it was all wrong. The Career Crossroads Program helped me better understand myself with respect to work and life in general. Through the various career assessments that The Career Crossroads provides and self-exploration exercises, I was able to identify a new field that is a better match for me. I am now optimistic and excited about my future. I also found a new job fairly quickly through networking, which Sheryl also discussed. Furthermore, Sheryl is a nice person, compassionate, and very easy to talk to. I highly recommend Sheryl and The Career Crossroads Program to anyone who is unhappy with their current job and unclear about what to do next.
